DavidMjps on "[Plugin: Search and Replace] Search and replace special characters with html"

I need to replace a bunch of left and right single and double quotes, em dashes, etc with the corresponding html.

I tried copying and pasting the characters from phpMyAdmin (and from a word doc) to the Search field but the plugin only found them in the wp-options field:

If I browse the actual database I can see the characters. Is there a way to make this work ?
