thanks for your help.
I modified your troubleshot a little bit and deactivated only the last 2 one installed plugins.

The "bad" plugin was "login-lockdown", i guess the combination with "limit-login-attempts" was the problem. I deinstalled login-lockdown and now SI CAPTCHA and limit-login-attempts works fine.
