I use this plugin in conjunction with User Role Editor, which I imaging is very similar.
There is a full suite of custom capabilities defined for this plugin, and all of these types of plugins (User Roles, Wordpress roles, user role editor etc) hook into this core functionality, so it should work with pretty much any one of these.
