Kevin Kwok on "[Plugin: The Events Calendar] Displaying Current month & year on Events Calendar"

Love the plugin, however I cannot figure out how to display the current month and year as plain text. I know by default it shows the current month and year currently in view via a drop down. I want to figure out what I need to do to get this in plain text. Does anyone know how to do this?
